Ryan Bast Your School Board Trustee
For Regina Catholic School Division & Executive Director at the Motor Safety Association
“Vote Bast for genuine commitment that will last”
ABOUT ME:
My name is Ryan Bast, a husband, father of three children across elementary, middle, and high school, and the spouse of a dedicated teacher within the Regina Catholic School Division. I am blessed to serve as an Occupational Health & Safety Director and am deeply committed to my faith as an active member of Resurrection Parish and the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus.
As an elected Trustee for the Regina Catholic School Division, I pledge to continue advocating for the well-being and future of all children and staff, striving to ensure that our Catholic education system remains strong and sustainable.
During my tenure as an RCSD Trustee, I have been honored to serve as Board Deputy Chair, Chair of the Archdiocesan Liaison Committee, and Chair of the Archives Committee. I have also represented our board on the Saskatchewan Catholic School Boards Association (SCSBA) and as Chair of the Board Policy Committee.
I am committed to deepening my understanding of Diversity, Accessibility, and Truth & Reconciliation, especially within the sacred context of Treaty 4 Territory. This journey is integral to my faith and my role as a servant leader in our Catholic community.
My background in Occupational Health & Safety continues to bring essential insights to the RCSD school board, where I recognize the profound importance of Safety, Mental Health, and Wellness support for both students and staff.
I am grateful for the trust you have placed in me to serve as a trustee for RCSD. It is a humbling experience to serve our Catholic school community, and I ask for your continued support on November 13th, 2024.

Larry Packet
Past State Deputy, KofC Saskatchewan
“I met Ryan at a Men’s Catholic Spiritual Enrichment evening called MADE FOR GREATNESS as I was the State Deputy for the Saskatchewan province of the Knights of Columbus. Ryan is a dedicated, hard working no nonsense kind of guy that is very highly respected and takes his career and his faith seriously as a building block for a fruitful life. I have witnessed his dedication to our Catholic Faith and to ensure those around him can see the outcome of having a faith filled life. His mannerism to be in touch with those he serves is a testimony to his dedication, commitment and vision to serve as a successful servant. His attention to detail, organizational skills and kind manner will be well received by this Board to ensure we continue to strive to continue with our Catholic identity in our schools, parishes and communities. Good luck Ryan on your re-election to this Board so you can continue to be the example to follow as not only a Worthy Gentleman but as a Honourable Brother Knight.”

“I had the pleasure of working with Ryan on the Holy Rosary Community School Review subcommittee in 2021. He chaired the committee and was very respectful and thorough in all his responsibility. He treated every member and guest with fairness, compassion and empathy. His love of both children and the Church was evident in every action he took. He wanted to take the best possible approached for them. Ryan is a fantastic Trustee; he is smart, loving, kind and fair! He is an extremely trustworthy and dependable leader for the community.”

“Ryan Bast is an active parent, and member of the CSCC at St. Gabriel School, currently as the treasurer. He is highly organized, diligent and really cares about what happens within the school. He has volunteered to attend parent conferences as a representative of our CSCC, and always represents our school community with honesty and respect. I think he would make an excellent Catholic School Board member, as he has a passion for education, and understands the challenges that teachers face, as well as an understanding of how to support education in a fair and meaningful way.”

His work ethic and enthusiasm were extremely helpful on his work on the committees he served on as well as his assistance to the Executive Board. Because Ryan is such a wonderful professional as well as asset to his community, he was selected as the 2019 Safety Manager of the Year for ISHM. “I have known Ryan Bast for many years. Ryan was trained as a Medical First Responder for the Montmartre Medical First Responder team. He volunteered to go out into his community and surrounding areas in advance of a responding ambulance service to provide lifesaving care to the sick and injured. He did this any time of the day or night on any given day. A very unselfish act. Ryan’s dedication to this program vaulted him to the Chairperson position. One that requires leadership and organizational skills. I could count on Ryan to ensure any information I required to be distributed or gathered would be done in a timely manner. Ryan’s commitment and dedication to his community is admirable and is evident in his successes in life. I have no doubt that Ryan will be successful in and endeavor he chooses.”
Eugene A. Guilford Jr.

“I first met Ryan when he was the nominee for the national ISHM Excellence in EHS Management Award in 2019. Ryan was chosen as the 2019 recipient of this prestigious award in recognition of his exemplary commitment to and achievements in safety. Ryan is one of the hardest working and diligent people I know, caring deeply about the people he serves and his family and colleagues. Ryan’s commitment to the service of others is best exemplified by not only the award he won in 2019, but in the way he conducts himself every day outside of his profession through the dedication he shows to his community.”
